Turned out to be a fairly busy day!! Tony and I went to the gym and walked only! Well, I walked and did elliptical because I can't walk as far as Tony! He went so fast today, because I had to be home in order to go to SLIVER SWEETHEARTS.
He passed me several times as I slowly trudge along! lol
GOOD HEAVEN'S!! I look like an old lady from the back.....Oh yeah, I am!! We finished, went home and I cleaned up and went to the Northside building for the luncheon.
It was a "FRENCH THEME" today. They started out teaching us various savory and sweet things to do with puff pastry! Also a little history on the church in France. It was interesting.
This one looked so good! I'm getting me some puff pastry and strawberries next time I grocery shop!
I have done this one before but I used crescent roll dough.
The one on the left is ham and swiss cheese in puff pastry. Also Baklava which I thought was a different nationality dish but maybe she was just showing us how to use the pastry.
This is filled with apples!
It was all done in black and white. One person at each table was chosen to be "Queen for a Day" If there was a dot on the bottom of your plate, you got the crown on the table. I got it! lol
I didn't get a very good picture of the food table but it was all soups.
I chose a vegetable soup and then a yellow pea soup.
Both were good.
Lori Slover got to be Queen for a Day at her table. I work with her at the temple on Saturdays. I got a picture with her.
It was a fun luncheon. I came home and Tony was at the dentist. I was able to bring a dessert home to him and a slice of French bread so I just warmed him up a soup from a can! lol
This was the dessert. Can't remember the French name but it was OK. Not my favorite.
After Tony ate, we watched HEARTLAND for a bit. We are on the last season. I worked on cutting out Gnomes as I watched.
There are two different kinds .
I'll work on the other one tomorrow....then to figure out a card. lol
This evening at 7:30, I met with the sister Missionaries at a home next to the church. There was suppose to be a gentleman named Carlos there but he was gone. His mother or grandmother (not sure which) was there. She only spoke Spanish. One Sister communicated with her and the other understood but didn't speak it yet, I UNDERSTOOD HARDLY NOTHING AT ALL!! lol It was fun though and I enjoyed being with the girls.
Now I'm home and it is time for bed. Reading The Book Of Mormon and enjoying it immensely!
