Saturday, we served our shift at the temple. Tony was able to get a few sealings done while serving his shift and then afterwards we stayed late and did initiatory. I was able to get 11 names done and Tony got 16 done. Total, we got 30 ordinances done on Saturday.
We were happy about that!
It was a beautiful day outside. Cool but the sun was shining and it was lovely! We went home and I got a few things ready to head over to Lynn's. Curtis and Deedra had gone to his parents house for breakfast and games. When Deedra touched base with me, they were at his brother's house in Meridian. They planned on being back to Lynn's around 1.
I worked on the cards for Mary. I made one up and sent it to her. She asked me to make it with flowers, so I embossed the white with a flower embossing folder, and then put one on the front of the scripture. I think it's really pretty and thought she'd like it. She sent me a text and asked me to add another flower to the top!! I get a little frustrated making cards for her. I feel like I'm the designer and she continues to tell me what to do. I sent her a text back and said I thought another flower would detract from the embossed part of the card AND I didn't want to add another flower. She caved, and said I didn't have to. Thank Heaven!! I made 5 more and I'm done.
At least with the 1st two. She's gonna send me two more scriptures and I'll design them. Not sure it's worth the money!!
Deedra called and said they were at Lynn's. We picked up Joyce and headed over. We brought two pizza's, Lynn had one and Tammy brought over 2. Deedra got a relish tray and pop. We had a good lunch and played cards till it was time to go to the
IDAHO CENTER.
We went at 5 o'clock. By the time we got there it was almost 5:30. They said the doors would open at 5:30 but someone in line said it wouldn't be until 5:45.
We got a couple of pictures . Poor Joyce was freezing. She is so tiny and has no meat on her bones so she is always cold!
We finally got in and we got some pretty good seats. Curtis and Deedra showed up about the same time and saved seats right behind the five of us. Their friends and their kids were coming too.
Joyce, Tammy and me.
Curtis and Deedra
The five of us.
The show started with a band playing music and singing and scenes from the 1st three episodes and people on screen sharing how
THE CHOSEN has impacted their lives.
Noah James, who plays ANDREW (brother of Simon) was the 1st one on stage to speak. It was so cool to hear from them. He said he was really struggling to work consistently. He got cast in a production and their were only 5 people at the show and three of them were his family. He got a call from Dallas Jenkins to come try out for THE CHOSEN. He remembered Noah because he'd tried out for THE SHEPHERD, which was the production that got Dallas started on The Chosen. He got the part. He explained it was different to be cast as a disciple of Jesus because he is a Jew.
How cool is that!!
He said the entire cast is like a family and how proud he is to be working on the show. They all said they had no idea it would take off like it has but how grateful they all are.
Amber Shana Williams who plays TAMAR, was the 2nd. She was funny. She said she was blonde and doing her Beyonce look. She shared how she was divorced, lives in Spain, remarried and has Lupus. She said she got pregnant and lost her baby. She explained how you have to crush grapes to make a fine wine or olives to make olive oil. She couldn't understand why God took her baby. She started working on The Chosen and she knows now that even after something so difficult, God doesn't leave us. She knows her child is in a better place and with God. She loves working on the show and has a better relationship with God now,
Shaan Sharma who plays SHMUEL was the 3rd speaker (and quite honestly) my favorite! He is from India. He was raised in Minnesota. He was so interesting. He said the character Shmuel wasn't a bad guy, he's just wrong! It makes me wonder what is going to happen to the character on the show.
Nick Shakoour , who plays Zebedee was the last speaker. He was fun and I think the youth in the audience enjoyed him the most. He does voice imitation's and came out as Optimus Prime and changed over to Megatron. Then he spoke about the series THE CHOSEN and how he came to feel the spirit and realize what a fantastic experience it is to be part of the cast. He ended with his voice imitations and it was fun to hear! All in all, it was a wonderful evening. They had the band come out and play some more so we left at that point so we could get out of the parking lot .
When we got home, we got our mail. I got the sweetest Valentine card from my Ministering partner, Peggy!
This made my day! I went up and prepared a card to give her on Sunday. I mixed up some Artisan bread for Sunday and then we got ready for bed, read our scriptures and hit the sack.
It's been a good weekend!
