FRIDAY & SATURDAY

Having a struggle with my weight.  I walk 4 miles 5 days a week and I guess I make up for it in my meals because the weight just isn't coming off!  I really need to cut out sugar entirely!  I have been better as far as soda goes. I told Liz that if she could give up coffee, I would give up cola's. If she only knew how hard that is for me.

Then I saw this funny on Facebook.  It's so cute!  Guess I'm very well armoured!!   Anyway, we got home from the gym on Friday and our friends called to see if we were home.

Amazingly, we were! SO, Larry and Zella stopped in and we had a good visit. Larry has lost a lot of weight. He is diabetic and so he's had to cut out sugar and a lot of carbs. I guess, if I got serious and did the same, I might just take some off as well. Zella gave me a card to give to Valerie at the funeral on Saturday. I asked her to just come but she said "no, just give them the card." lol They stayed about an hour and then said they had to leave because they had been grocery shopping and had food in the car. Good to see them!

Our irrigation water finally got turned on again. We were with out water on the yard and garden for 8 days. I went out to pick the beans in the garden and got quite a few.

My Tiger Lilies are blooming pretty good but the tips were getting pretty dry.

These were looking so beautiful last week and now look pretty sick. Most of the yard survived the dry spell pretty good but unfortunately, some of the potted flowers , did not!!  I came in and made a double batch of brownies for the funeral on Saturday. I did a couple of loads of laundry and then we turned in early. 7PM to be exact!

I got up at 3:45 am and Tony got up at 4. We got ready for our shift at the temple. We were to be veil coordinators and needed to be to a 5:30 am prayer meeting. Lubov showed up at 4:45 and we hit the road. Traffic is super at that time of morning! lol It was a great day in the temple. I love to be there and feel the peace. I can leave all the troubles of the world outside. I am grateful for the love of my Savior, Jesus Christ and I know that because of Him, all will be well.  We finished around 11am and  came out to the heat!  lol  It's been in the high 90's and even hit 103 one day. We brought Lubov home and then Tony and I hurried to CHICK FIL A for a quick lunch. Then we went home, got the brownies and Sympathy cards and then went to pick up Lubov, Joyce and Donna. Lynn drove herself to the funeral.

The service was wonderful!! Carrie touched
SO MANY LIVES!!
There were people there that I hadn't seen for a long time. All of her children were there, as well as her mother and siblings and
SO MANY FRIENDS!!
The service took a little over an hour and so many stories were told about Carrie that were so funny but for those who knew her, she was described so well and you could just see Carrie doing all the things that were said about her. She was one of a kind.

There was a nice luncheon for the family and close friends but we had to get the ladies home and then get ready to go back to the temple with Yeti, and Chris & Tammy to do baptisms.  We dropped off  Donna and then took Joyce & Lubov home. Then we went and picked up Yeti and Lynn and we met Tammy & Chris there.
The baptistry was busy again. Tony was able to baptize Yeti for 18 of our relatives who have passed but then the rest of us were only able to do 5 a piece.  HOWEVER, that is still 38 baptismal ordinances and 38 confirmations. We were pleased.

We finished around 5:30 or so and then we drove Yeti to Boise to pick up his pickup truck that he just bought. He was having it detailed and it was finished so we drove him over and dropped him off. We then went and got gas and drove back to Nampa. It was so hot, so we decided to go to COLD STONE and get some
ice-cream.

Tony and his mom shared a FOUNDER'S FAVORITE and I chose to have a Strawberry Mango Smoothie. It was cold and refreshing.  We then took Lynn home and I came home and worked on my lesson again.  Sunday (which is today) we went to church and Aaron and Whitney Olenik and their 2 little boys came to church. We sat with them and after Sacrament meeting, Tony helped them get the little boys to nursery and Primary and Aaron went to Priesthood and Whitney came to Relief Society. I had to lead the discussion today. I'm not always comfortable doing it but it went really well. I was prepared and we all had a great discussion. The lesson was on Elder Cook's last conference talk titled:
" THE ATONEMENT OF JESUS CHRIST, PROVIDES THE ULTIMATE RESCUE"
I had a lot of class participation and felt good about it. After I got my pictures and things back in the car, I went in to say goodbye to Aaron and Whitney. She and Aaron were in the gym talking to Tony and she gave me a BIG HUG and said how much she enjoyed being there and she told her husband how much the little boys loved Primary and nursery. It was wonderful. Aaron said he enjoyed it as well. The we found out that he was just hired on at the same place Yeti works. He said his prayers were answered and he has been praying for a better job. THE LORD truly does love us all and he makes things happen when we truly pray and ask for help. GREAT FEW DAYS!
