My dear friend, Carrie Jorgenson, passed away on the 4th of July. I served with her for se eral years in Relief Society. She was our Secretary. She came down with cancer. She went through chemo and radiation and lost all of her hair. She decided that she was tired of feeling sick from the cure so she started drinking a special tea that seemed to help. Then she got sick and was not able to come to church for several weeks. She got so weak and fell and got so bruised up on her face. She looked like a racoon when I went to visit her at the hospital. She was put into a rehab facility and said she felt more like herself than she has for a long time.
Then on the morning of the 4th, she slipped to the otherside of the veil. She was only 64 and just the sweetest person you'll ever know. She was blunt and honest and a great lady! You always knew where you stood with her. She will be greatly missed but she is in such a good place now and not suffering anymore.
This is Stillman and family's new puppy, Brinkley. They are in love.
The kids came for Melissa's 50th birthday, and to celebrate the 4th of July. We got together on Friday and Saturday at Lynn's to play games and eat. Friday, Tony and I went home early because we served at the temple Saturday morning. After we got home today, we went over and the kids had bought OLIVE GARDEN and we had lunch. Then the Butterfields went to his parents home to visit and Stillman and family went to Michelle's relatives. Tony and I came home and I made chili and cornbread for lunch on Sunday. Then we went back with Joyce, and Curtis made steaks and potatoes. They invited their friends (Tracy and Heather Ballantyne) over to eat and play games.
Stillman brought the puppy back and then left again. The kids love him and had no problem playing with him.
Tammy and Chris came over again while we were playing games but they just picked up their two boys and went home. We played 9 rounds of GOLF and then we went home as well. Curtis lost, can you tell? lol It was a wonderful weekend.
A side note. I was a bride attendant at an 11 o'clock sealing. Trevor and Abby Buck had already been sealed to their two children but just adopted a baby from the islands. He was 11 months old and was sealed to his parents today. It turned out that Trevor is Ida and Tom Buck's youngest son, so I got to see them and a lot of their kids. Ida was so thrilled and said that it was a tender mercy that I got to be in on it. She said she had no idea and I didn't know either.
It was pretty cool.
