Tuesday was our temple day with the ladies. We each did an endowment, an hour of sealings and ended doing initiatory. A lot was accomplished !
It was a hot day...again! SO looking forward to Fall! We decided to try out the new L&L Hawaiian BBQ on the blvd. We had two people say it was good. We stopped and Joyce made the best choice. She got shrimp, I got chicken and Tony and Lynn got Kalua Pork bowls. They were not happy with the bowls. Said there wasn't enough vegetables and the pork was fatty. The chicken was OK but the shrimp looked really good. Joyce's and mine came with a portion of rice and macaroni salad (which was really good) Tony helped me finish mine but when we left he said he doubted we'd go there again. :( Wednesday, we went to the gym and I walked with Pat. I had a bag of watermelon rinds that I gave to her for the chickens. She said the chicks love us!! lol Then after our walk, she followed us to the house because she wanted to see where we lived.
We showed her our before and after pictures and we had a really nice visit. Tony took our picture. We visited for about 45 minutes and then Tony asked if I could go over to Joyce's house. He was taking her to a doctor appointment but the TV repairman was there and she needed me to sit in her home till he left. I told Pat she could come over with me but she said she had to get home to her dogs. I sure like her. She's a good friend. I look short next to her. I'm definitely fat but I didn't realize I was that much shorter than her. lol
We do enjoy walking and talking at the gym and I've been to her house and now she's been to mine. It's fun to have a good friend!!
LIFE IS BETTER WITH A GOOD FRIEND!~
When we got home, I did laundry and then we relaxed in the back room. Tony worked on his puzzle and I read my book. Almost done with it and then I'll be on the last one in the series of 6!
Tony finished his puzzle and was so disgusted when one piece was missing. I was disappointed as well because he was going to frame it for me to set out at Christmas! He thinks he got it at Hobby Lobby but couldn't remember. That happened one other time and he'd bought the puzzle at Deseret Book. We were able to get it replaced but he decided to forgo this one. It happens now and again!
I'm so unhappy with my weight but can't seem to take off a few pounds no matter how much walking I do. (Guess I need to sew my lips shut) My friend Robbin told me to get on the Monjaro site to see if I can get it at a discount. She was put on it because of being pre-diabetic and she doesn't have to pay anything. She's lost a good 15 pounds in a little over a month. Wish I could afford to do it but......not so. It's expensive!!
Thursday, Tony and I had to walk outside because the Rec Ctr is closed for maintenance till Monday. We walked around the park 4 times and then walked the long way home. Managed to get our 10 thousand steps and an exercise day. Then we went to the grocery store to get things for Sunday's dinner. My turn to cook. We came home and put groceries away and then I went over to Joyce's house to cut her hair. When I finished, we decided to FINALLY go to SCHEELS!! We have been saying we were going to check it out forever and haven't made it.
We looked at all the store (and it's spendy) and then we rode the ferris wheel. We were the only ones on it and he took us around 2....TWO.... times and stopped!!! He asked how we liked it and Tony said, "It was fine but it was sure a short ride!" So he said since we were the only ones on it, he would send us around a couple more times. He actually sent us around three more times so I guess we got our money's worth. lol But I doubt we'll ever shop there. Too rich for our blood!! But, we can at least say we went.
We stopped at CHICK FIL A on the way home, picked up a couple of salads and came home and ate while catching up on the semi finals of AMERICA'S GOT TALENT and the new Kelly Clarkston show. Then Tony tore apart his puzzle and started a new one and I worked on die cutouts for cards.
I cut out a bunch of seagulls and all his feet and beaks and glued them together. Did some sponge shadowing too.
Then I cut out trucks and it's parts and things for the bed of the truck but haven't got them glued yet. Will work on them later.
I also cut out some cats. We went to bed around 10 . Then this morning at 5:30 the doorbell rang. We thought it was Lubov and that she got her days mixed up and thought it was Saturday and time to go to the temple.....it was not. It was Joyce and she wanted to go to the hospital. She said she was up all night and thought it was her heart giving her pain. Tony immediately took her to the emergency room. Finally he came home about 8:30. I got up when he left, showered and got ready for the day. When he got home he said the doctor could not find any problem with her heart and it was more of an intestinal problem. She had taken medication before bed on an empty stomach and it caused her aches and pains. Glad it wasn't more. When Tony got home, we went out and walked. We went to the church and then walked back to Lynn's. Told her about Joyce and then walked to Robin's house and helped her hang up a heavy bed spread she had washed and couldn't get on the line to dry. We visited briefly and then came home. Ate a quick breakfast and then Tony went out to mow Joyce's lawn. I did laundry, put my Halloween village on Marketplace (hope it sells)
made cookies and read my book. Will be time to make lunch soon and then we'll rest till 7 when we go to bed. It's Friday and we need to be at the temple at 5:30 for early morning prayer meeting because we are serving as veil coordinators tomorrow. YAY!
