Tuesday, we picked up Lynn and went the temple. It was overcast but not cold. We had some rain but we need it and honestly, it's more welcome than snow. lol We had a successful day and accomplished quite a bit while serving our ancestors.
When we came out, I told Tony I wanted a picture with the Nativity. I WAS going to get Christmas cards printed when I got home. It wasn't a fancy picture but it shows what we enjoy doing and it was sufficient for a few cards. We went to lunch at Chick Fil A in Meridian and then went to pick up a food order at the Bishops Storehouse for a family in the ward. We drove back to Nampa and took Lynn home before going to deliver the food to the family. Once we finished, we came home, I changed and then sat down at my computer and worked on putting the card together on the Walmart sight. When finished, I placed the order for 50 cards. When the price came up as $250 dollars and some change, I nearly passed out!! I backed out of the sight real fast and went to the photo only site and it was still gonna be $70 some dollars for just a photo. I decided to put my message and the photo on Facebook and called it good!
That is ridiculous!!
WEDNESDAY
We got up early and were at the gym by 7am. Pat had a dermatology appointment at 9 so we started early. Got our workout done and then went to Walmart and Costco for a few items we needed. Came home and did some laundry and then started working on some Christmas cards. I had a Relief Society meeting at 6 so didn't accomplish a lot.
I got a lot of snowmen and the scarf etc. cut out but only got 3 cards made. I'm working on some more but with penguins. At 5:45, I left for my meeting. We put together the gift bags for the sisters while we had our meeting and will be handing them out Sunday.
They have a snowflake for the tree inside and a card with a scripture and a sweet message with 2 kisses. We made 150 of them for all the sisters in the ward. Came home and got ready for bed. I put together my sweet potato souffle for Thursdays Electrician's Christmas party.
We went to the gym early again. Got there at 6:45am and walked our 4 miles. The sunrise was gorgeous! Got home before 9am and got my souffle in the oven. We cleaned up and left for Boise.
The party was held at the Union Hall downtown Boise.
There were 3 electricians who were still working and we invited them to eat with all the retired electricians.
I helped set up the food tables and then Tony and I sat down to wait and visit!
We were asked to bring a $20 dollar gift for a man and one for a woman. We gave two $25 dollar gift cards. All wrapped up in a box so it didn't look like a gift card. lol
The red table was for women and the white for men. They handed out numbers and I was #5 and Tony #6.
I got a lovely scarf and hat. It's so soft and I really like it. We need colder weather if I'm gonna use it. lol It was 65% when we came home!! Just beautiful outside.
I also got this No7 facial set. I looked it up on line and this stuff isn't cheap!! I was happy with the gift. Tony got two flashlights. The fancy ones that have the window breaker and the flashing lights and the seatbelt cutter. Pretty nice. We got home and sat down to rest a bit till we went to the Bostrom's Christmas party at 6PM!
We got to the Bostrom's party a little after 6PM. I was greeted by my friend Alissa Boyer who is no longer in our ward but I see her and her husband, David all the time at the rec center. I enjoyed these two ladies a lot. It's great to make new friends.
I've met this lady and her husband at the temple. She was so much fun! The lady on the couch was fun as well. We all laughed so hard.
The Bostrom's (our hosts) are on the left. Alissa and David Boyer and then another couple we didn't know but met tonight.
It was a white elephant party and after we ate, we played the game. It was so fun and we all laughed so hard. Tony and I were so surprised that one of the gifts we brought was exchanged several times!! It was one of those electric fly swatters and a tape measure. Who Knew!

Tony picked this CD and he was happy to get it. No one tried to take it from him. When it was my turn, I stole Jorjette's gift which was a glass popcorn dish with hot pads and a wax burner and the wax. Later, she stole it back from me so I stole this hand soap from a gal.
It was a fun evening. A busy day but a fun day.
