ANNUAL BLOCK PARTY 2017

Tony and I held our Annual Block Party which we have been hosting since 2006. We only missed one year when he was in Iraq. We took out our Big Willow Tree so we didn't have the shade we normally do so had to put up two canopies to provide some relief. With our Gazebo, it turned out to be fine. The temp was in the 3 digits but we provided lots of ice water!
Lubov, Suzette and Joyce staying hydrated!  lol

It was a pretty decent turnout despite the hot weather! We counted 22 in attendance! Wish we could get more to attend but we are happy with those who come out!

We made our usual "Kahlua Pork" and Sweet Potato SoufflĂ©! Its amazing what a good variety we get because I don't make assignments, I just tell them to bring a salad/side or dessert !
There's always plenty of good food!

Our neighbor "Skip"!  She is a kick!  She said she was worried about the heat but later she said she was acclimated and she was one of the last to leave! lol

It was a fun day. Bob Haverfield and Lubov Rice got into a water fight! So fun to watch! Jack, our "Artist" neighbor asked when he could go to the Meridian Temple Open House. He said he had been to the Boise Temple when it had it's open house and he raved on and on about the architecture and how beautiful it was. He said he was excited to take some pictures of the outside. (We thought that was pretty cool!)
We figured that it would be a quick party.... we thought people would eat and leave because of the hot temperature but they all stayed longer this year than they ever have!
IT WAS GREAT!
After people started to leave, Paul (the young man who lives behind us) helped Tony put away the tables and the canopies. So nice of him.
Then Suzette Jarrett (Shawn her husband didn't come)  and Chris and Dale Sugg, came in the house with us and we visited for a bit before playing Mexican Train. Dale then asked when the Meridian Temple was going to have it's open house and could they go with us again??  We were ecstatic!!  We hope Suzette and Shawn will go this time too. Hopefully after hearing Dale and Chris say how much they enjoyed going with us to the Boise Open House and how beautiful the temple was, they will decide to go this time.
We pray they will.
Anyway, it was a successful Block Party and very enjoyable!
Till next year .......
