I decided I needed to do something nice for Patrick and Kaitlyn ( our next door neighbors) who have been so sweet this winter. Helping to shovel our walks, and bringing me flowers two different times.
I decided to bake some cookies. Easy Peasy and that's what I need right now! lol
Tony was at the gym. It was pretty overcast and slick. At least on the side roads. When Tony got home, he went over to say goodbye to Ty Cindy and said he was slipping like crazy on the road so had to take baby steps.
I got a plate of cookies and a Thank you card ready. Tony took it over to Patrick & Kaitlyn, later in the day when they were both home. Just hope they know how much I appreciate them.
Tony worked on his puzzle that he got for Christmas from Jess and Diane. He was done in 2 days. I can't believe how fast he can put them together. Amazing!!
I've been working on a word puzzle book, reading, blogging and watching TV! I wanted something different to do, so got out my stamps and markers. a little coloring for a change of a pace. lol Sure glad I have two hands again!
TUESDAY
Slept crappy last night (thanks Prednisone) but what's new. I was up and working on my puzzle book when Tony came down. I had already eaten a piece of toast with some melted cheese on it so I could take my medication. I keep thinking if I take it 1st thing when I wake up, I'll be able to sleep better that night but it doesn't seem to work. lol He left for the gym and I went up and took a shower. I was back on the couch when I got a call from Doctor Keller ( the kidney doctor I was supposed to see tomorrow) He said he had some cancelations and wanted to know if I could come in today and visit with him. I said "Of course" and we set it up for 1pm. I called Tony and told him so he'd be sure and be home on time. He was of course. I fried him a couple of eggs, some bacon and a piece of toast and at 12:30 we left for Caldwell. Dr. Keller is such a nice doctor. He told me that in going over my chart, most recent tests and confirming with other doctors, I have the autoimmune disease Churg-Strass but I also have things in my blood that cross over to EGPA (eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis. That's a mouthful....boils down to Stage 3 chronic kidney disease and persistent proteinuria. He then told me he wants to start me on a type of chemo called Cytoxan infusions. I will have to go into the lab every other week for blood tests and a urine test before doing the infusions. He wants the 1st one immediately (this week if possible) and was going to call the clinic's to see which one can get me in 1st. It could be Nampa, Meridian or Boise. He said he prefers it to be the closest to home, BUT, if Boise says they have an opening...TAKE IT!! He said I only have one good kidney and it was functioning around 50% when I was in the hospital and has gone down to 37% since I've been released. He said we need to get on top of this immediately and he hopes to have me on top of things within 4 to 6 months. Once he gets me better, I will have to be on a pill of some sort for the rest of my life. Kinda scary news but I'm glad I have a path to follow to see if I can get healthy again. Since I will be doing a form of chemo, I will still have to be careful because my immune system is still very compromised. I will need to wear masks (YUCK) at church or at the temple and he said I should not have more than 6 people in my home at a time for a while. AND, if anyone is sick to please ask them to stay home. Man, I hope I can get this under control. My life is not what I want it to be right now.
I love my family and want to be around them.

I can't believe your kidney failure dropped that much in such a short amount of time. So glad the doctor was able to see you early and get going on things. Love you and praying for you!
