What an absolutely wonderful Christmas. It came with joy, sorrow, love and gratefulness!
But this came up on my feed and it reminded me, No matter what is happening, if we focus on the Savior, everything will be ok!
I woke up early. At 4:45 am. Wish I could say it was because I was excited for Christmas but it was the darn prednisone. I saw on my phone that church was canceled because of ice rain last night.
The drive way and sidewalks were a sheet of ice.
I got the puzzle modge podged yesterday and it was good and dry this morning. I love this one too. It will fun to put up next Christmas. He'll frame it this summer when he can get the saw out!
I made an Apple Strudel for breakfast this morning with the apples we canned this past week. It was so good! Lots better than the German pancake I made yesterday. lol Awhhh, sweet success!
We got some lovely gifts. Dad got a puzzle, a couple of games, a Chosen mug and video, a smoker for his BBQ grill and some gift cards to eat out!
I got a Christmas ornament, a Chosen mug, some lovely creams and shower steamers and lip balm so I can pamper myself. Also gift cards to eat out! And BEST of all, Tony got me a Pedicure when my feet are better!! It's been a wonderful day!
We were able to Zoom my brother's Sacrament meeting. (from Astoria) His wife Wendy spoke and there were three other speakers as well and lots of musical numbers. It was all done so well and I cried through the entire meeting. We had just learned that Tony's cousin Joel Haverfield, passed away late last night or early this morning. He and his wife had recently returned from a cruise and he had been on the phone with his mom and was so excited to tell her all about the trip. Afterward, he had a heart attack and they took him to the hospital but couldn't revive him. So sad!
We had Carniasata taco's for dinner today and chips and salsa. It was so delicious. Not a typical "CHRISTMAS DINNER" but it was delicious!! We are now watching THE CHOSEN, marathon style. It's been a wonderful day. Very quiet with lots of texts, Marco Polo's and calls from the kids. A wonderful Christmas.
