We had a normal shift at the temple today. We left at 5:30 and I was at the recommend desk at 6:15 so I missed prayer meeting. Tony was at it last week so he missed the prayer meeting last week. I was with a Brother Ross and he was the nicest guy. Had great stories to tell when we weren't busy.
When the shift was over, I had to get a picture of the flowers at the entrance. So beautiful! We came home and decided we were too tired to go to the gym. We still had the fund raiser to go to so decided to rest up for that.
I finished stamping and putting together the cards I started last week. I ended up using a different cat and dog stamp as they fit better on the little white insert. I'll use the cats I'd done for a different card.
I colored them while I was watching a Hallmark movie with Tony. I was so hungry but we didn't want to eat because we were getting a dinner at the church. I still have a sentiment to put on them but ran out of time. Another day.....
We went to the church at 4:30 to start the silent auction. There were all sorts of items. From blankets to pictures, breads, cards, wreaths, pens, caramels etc....
Tony and I went around and bid on things we were interested in but started low. Then we'd go back and bid again if someone bid higher.
Our Bishop and his wife use to own HARVEST CLASSIC and they had the most marvelous bread!! He had his cinnamon raisin bread and his black bread. Both are to die for!! I swear, everyone was bidding on them! I kept raising my bid and when it was all said and done, I got one of the cinnamon raisin breads but not the black bread. My good friend Lorna got three of them so bless her heart, she gave me a loaf. I told her I'd pay for it but she said NO!
After we did the silent auction, we were fed a spaghetti dinner, with a salad, roll and a cookie.
That's my friend Lorna (in the red sweatshirt) who gave me the bread! she's so sweet!
I just love her!
They had us all bring a dessert to auction off after dinner. I brought a coconut cream cake. It sold for $45 or $50 dollars. I wasn't quite sure which one but I felt good about it. I wanted to bid on the cream puff's that Lorna made but Sister Mendoza was bound and determined she was going to get them and got them up to $105. Then she was so sweet and went around and gave them to people. We were lucky to be one of the beneficiary's. YUMMY!~
When it was all over, we ended up spending $240 dollars! Seriously, it was a steel!! We got some really good stuff for way less than it was worth! We got a box of caramels, a key lime cheesecake, a dinner and games with the Dickerson's, and an ice-cream cake from Dairy Queen. tony got the back pack pictured above and it came with a flashlight that was $125.00 alone!! It's got a knife in it, a window breaker, etc then it came with a couple of smaller things. Tony got the whole thing for $100. He was thrilled!
I got the serving tray for $10 bucks! It has treats for Santa on one side and Easter on the other. I couldn't believe no one else bid on it! I almost felt bad! Then I got the three pens for $10 dollars apiece. I Know they sell for at least $100 dollars apiece because they are hand made and I bought one from Holly's father-in-law.! I also got the
Halloween /Thanksgiving
time picture. We were pleased with our purchases. My 2 boxes of cards sold as well as my 3 tubs of caramel corn. Not like they did at Deedra's ward or my family reunion BUT they did sell! There were some things that didn't even get bid on. Our ward is not a wealthy ward but we still raised $3500 dollars from what I was told! It was just a lot of fun! We got out of there at 8:30 and I am dead tired so heading to bed. It was a good day!

I would have loved getting a loaf of the Adamson's bread! What was the fundraiser for exactly? Looks like you got some good stuff.
It was for our Ward Budget. At 1st I thought it was just for the youth but I was wrong. Its for all the organizations. There was some good stuff. It was fun.
Oh, and Adamson's bread is to die for!! SO GOOD!~
