NIKKI IS HERE & THE GARDEN IS IN

We got up this morning and were headed to the gym when Deedra told us that Nikki had left at 2am and she was with a friend at the gym. So we thought we'd see her  there.

On my way out, I took a picture of my tree as it is now turning green! Those leaves are pushing the blossoms off and taking over. I enjoyed it while I could. We got to the gym and walked and did weights. We never did see Nikki but she called and said she had been to visit her Gramma Butterfield and was now looking for Ginger Beer  for her friend's birthday. When we were headed home, I called her and said we'd be there in 5 minutes. She showed up shortly after us! She was so sweet! She brought me a sour dough starter and we are going to make sour dough bread. Maybe pancakes too! We just had a bowl of cereal and an orange and then she took a nap in the back room while we went out to plant our garden!

We put in peas 1st and then put the wire things in so when they start to grow, they can climb on them. We waited too long last year and it was a struggle to get them to climb. Not gonna let that happen again. Then we put in Acorn Squash, a Cucumber, Yellow, Red and Orange peppers and then we went to the raised bed and put in beans, beets, cilantro and chard. We then drove to LOWES to  get Basil and two kinds of tomatoes. They didn't have Roma so we went to Zamzows. They had them there so we got a Roma and a Beef Steak. Came home and got those three plants in!

When we got the garden done, we got rid of the rocks in the two planters at the back of the house. They used to have a fake tree in each of them but they had gotten so old all the leaves were blowing off and they were all over the yard ALL THE TIME! We finally threw them out, emptied the rocks and then planted flowers!

BEGONIA'S!!  My favorite! This will be a good spot for them, as they will get morning sun and then shade all afternoon.

I came in to make a Market Fresh Salad for each of us and just as I started, Lubov showed up. She was having trouble making a phone call on her cell so Tony helped her by resetting her phone. Then I invited her to eat with us. She also brought me a watermelon. So the four of us had a salad and watermelon. Nikki  got a call from Ted and he said he was on a tight schedule so she had to leave quickly to give his things back. She wasn't gone long and is going a little later to get together with Logan again.

We put some water on the garden after we were all done with our work. Now to keep the birds from eating the seed. 

I think I'm gonna love having the raised garden! 

Just glad to finally get it planted! Now it's time to rest! We are so tired! 

Hedwig better do his job!  lol
